One press and it's on the call.
No separate service to call, no account number to read out, and no waiting for an interpreter to be found.
Dial *84
From any Cannon VoIP phone, dial *84 to bring the translation agent onto a call already in progress.
Tap Translate
In the Cannon VoIP mobile, desktop or web app, tap Translate on the call.
Press a key
Set up a Translate key on your desk phone and start it with one press.
It stays out of the way.
The translation agent listens, waits for each person to finish, and translates. Everyone hears the conversation in their own language.
- Says it has joined, so both people know it is there
- Works out both languages on its own, with nothing to set up
- Waits for a natural pause, then translates each side for the other
- Never speaks except to translate, and never translates its own voice
- Joins a call in progress, or works on speakerphone between two people in the same room
- Works in video meetings too
- Sessions run for up to two hours
19 languages
Including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Vietnamese and Mandarin. You never pick the languages. It works them out as people speak.
From your phone menu
Add a menu option that connects callers through the translation agent. It joins when someone on your team answers, and you can set the language per menu and per queue.
Text messages too
Long-press any text message in the app to translate it. The original stays visible underneath.
Not every caller speaks English.
Medical and dental offices
Check in patients, explain instructions and schedule follow-ups with families who prefer another language.
Law firms
Take intake calls and keep clients informed between appointments.
Home services
Talk through the job and the price with the homeowner on site, on speakerphone.
Property management
Handle maintenance requests and lease questions with every tenant.
Schools
Reach parents about attendance, grades and events.
Any front desk
Help walk-in customers and callers without waiting for a bilingual employee to be free.
From a customer request to beta in under two weeks.
We didn't have the translation agent. Then a customer asked for a way to talk with callers who speak another language. We built the full feature set and had it running in beta on their account in less than two weeks, then released it to every customer after two months of thorough testing.
That's how we treat feature requests. We don't brush them off. We take them seriously, prioritize them and find a way to build them. Because we write our own software, we can.
Phone interpreter services charge by the minute. We don't.
Here is what 200 minutes of interpreting a month costs elsewhere, about twenty 10-minute calls.
| Option | Price | 200 minutes a month | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cannon VoIP translation agent | Included | $0 | No extra cost with every extension |
| LanguageLine pay-per-minute, phone | $3.95/min | $790 | Published rate, no minimums |
| LanguageLine pay-per-minute, video | $4.95/min | $990 | Published rate, no minimums |
| Typical phone interpreting range | $1.25 to $4.00/min | $250 to $800 | Industry range reported in 2026 |
- LanguageLine, Pay Per Minute Interpreting: $3.95 per minute audio, $4.95 per minute video, no minimums.
- CCI Group, Over the Phone Interpreting Cost (June 2026): about $1.25 to $4.00 per minute in most U.S. settings.
The 200-minute column is our math from those rates, for example twenty 10-minute calls.
The translation agent is AI, not a person. For court proceedings or anything else that legally requires a certified human interpreter, use one.
