How to dial internationally
To place an international call, dial the country code shown below first, then dial the local number.
Example: to call a United Kingdom number, start with +44 followed by the local number.
Know the price before you dial
- Desk phones say the price out loud: before an international call connects, the phone reads the country and the per-minute price. Press 1 to accept the rate; silence or any other key cancels the call. Teams that call abroad every day can turn the spoken price off.
- Apps show it on screen: the Android, Windows and browser apps show the country and rate on screen before dialing, and expensive calls ask you to accept the per-minute price first.
- On or off per company: international calling is switched on or off for your whole company, and rates are shown by tier in the portal.
- Costliest destinations stay blocked until agreed: Extreme destinations stay off until we have agreed the rate with you.
- Caribbean +1 numbers count as international: numbers in places like Jamaica or the Bahamas use +1 but are treated, and priced, as international calls.
- Spend is watched 24/7: international spending is monitored around the clock to catch toll fraud early.
- Itemized on your statement: international calls appear on the monthly statement as their own line, with the top countries, at the rate you were told when you dialed. The billing page shows this month’s international total so far.
