Supported Devices: Keep Your Phones and Switch to Cannon VoIP

Cannon VoIPJun 233 min read

Already have VoIP phones? They may work with Cannon VoIP. Below is the list of desk phones and adapters we support today, grouped by brand. Keep the hardware you have, skip the upfront cost, and get running faster.

✦Zero-touch setup: factory-fresh Fanvil, Yealink and Grandstream phones find our platform on first boot (marked ✦ below). Cisco and Poly phones set up with a one-time link.

Cannon VoIP certified

VoIP-6 and VoIP-12 desk phones, the VoIP-1 phone and the VoIP-ATA-1 analog adapter. The VoIP-6 works with any standard SIP provider.

Fanvil ✦

X6U-V2, X210-V2, W610W, GA10, X5U, X7, V65

Yealink ✦

T31P, T33G, T43U, T46U, T54W, T57W, and the W73P cordless phone

Grandstream ✦

GRP2601, GRP2604, GRP2614, GXP2170, and the HT801 and HT802 adapters

Cisco MPP

6841, 7841, 8841, and the ATA 191 adapter

Poly VVX

150, 250, 350, 450

Other models can be added with a configuration template. Beyond that, our platform can work with almost any standard SIP phone that accepts basic SIP credentials (server, username and password). The trade-off: a phone that is not on our list is set up by hand, and you lose what the portal does for supported phones, like automatic setup, remote changes from the portal, key programming and firmware updates. Fax machines and analog phones connect through an on-site adapter, so older equipment can stay on the wall.

Setup with no typing

Each phone is enrolled with its extension, model and MAC address, and gets its own private provisioning link that works for that phone only. Status badges show whether a phone is provisioned, waiting for first boot, online or offline. You can move a phone to a different extension without enrolling it again, and rotate its SIP password with one button. The phone picks up the new password on its next check-in.

Call park

Park a call on one of 20 park spots, 701 to 720, private to your company. Anyone can pick it up from any phone or the apps. A parked call nobody collects rings back the person who parked it.

What your desk phone gets

  • The company directory downloads into every phone's phonebook, including every extension, shared company contacts and your personal contacts. Contacts you save in the mobile app reach your desk phone's directory and stay current.
  • Busy lamp keys light up when a colleague's phone is ringing, in use or on Do Not Disturb. Press one to call that colleague or pick up their ringing call.
  • Up to 20 keys per extension, with custom labels, for colleagues, speed dials and paging groups. Keys belong to the person and follow them to any phone, and you can hide unused side keys so the phone shows only the keys you set.
  • The phone's own Transfer, Hold and Conference keys work as you would expect, and the Hold key plays your company's hold music to the caller.
  • Over 90 settings you can set once per phone model or override for one phone: boot logo and background (plus a second background that VoIP-6 phones show when side keys are set), phone menu language, ring tones and volumes, screensaver, and more.
  • Hot desking: make any certified desk phone ring as your extension for the day. Your keys and speed dials follow you, and the phone returns to its owner when the claim ends.

Remote help when something is wrong

A one-click Diagnose screen gives a one-line verdict on what is wrong, checking the extension, configuration, registration and setup in order, each with a plain next step. From the portal we can also tell a phone to reprovision now, reboot it remotely, and upload firmware per phone model.

Managed office routers are available too: plug-and-play routers set up for voice and managed for you by our team. Office Wi-Fi is set centrally, only approved devices can connect, settings known to break phone calls are switched off automatically, and our team watches each router and can reboot it remotely.

Don't see your phone on the list?

Other models can be added with a configuration template, and almost any standard SIP phone can connect with basic SIP credentials, without the portal's remote management. Email us the make and model and we'll tell you which way yours would work.
